My Tuesday Tropical Vacation

The lake had such a pretty colour today, making the "pirate" ship look a little more like it really was somewhere in the tropics.

Hoarfrost

I've been cleaning up older files off of my hard drive, and one of the enjoyable benefits of doing so, is coming across all kinds of photos I never got around to showing anyone. So you might be seeing bunch more of these in the next little while.

In anticipation of spring making itself known, I thought we'd better get the last vestiges of winter out of the way for now. I shot these back in January. It's incredible to me how frost can have so many different forms!

Timeless Train Bridge

I blame my husband. :) I wasn't going to go out to take photos yesterday morning- I was going to work at my computer all day- but he mentioned how nice it was outside. I ended up losing track of time - of course - and spent the entire fabulous morning at one of the awesome spots around here.

New Wineskins

Well, my new camera is living up to my expectations so far! These are my first proper shots with it (from this morning) - and wowee - everything is so crisp & gorgeous! An uncropped/uninterpolated image is 16x24"! It is pretty sweet that Phase just launched a new version of their software as well. So with everything combined,  I am feeling like I'm falling in love with photography all over again!!!

The Prairies

Sorry I haven't been posting as quickly as I'd hoped- work & life has picked right back up since being away & this was pushed aside..

BC & Back! - Thunder Bay

I'm back! Monday at 1:30am we finally rolled into our driveway again, exhausted but happy. We'd been on a fantastic road trip out to BC for a wedding of some friends. Canada is a big country and needless to say, I took a lot of photos... Slowly but surely, I've been sorting through, and so let the sharing of highlights begin!

Our first memorable stops were in the Lake Superior/Thunder Bay area.
