Backyard Beauties

I've had this idea that I should photograph all the different flowers that grow in our yard. This will definitely have to be a project that will span multiple years. Here are some from this afternoon.

These made me think of tiny butterflies

I'd never noticed that the petals of lupins have these tiny heart shapes

Not sure which composition I like better. Any more decisive opinions, or do you like them both? ..or not at all? :)

Blossoms

It was so beautiful when the blossoms were out, not too long ago. I had the chance to go out with my aunt one day to get some shots. I've had a very hard time picking my favorites, but here are some!

Lovely Lilacs

There has been so much going on lately! I've been able to work on a variety of interesting different jobs lately, and at the same time there are so many changes happening outside. Every day something else is flowering or budding. There are so many cute young animals showing up in the fields & bushes. Spring is so exciting!
The other day I was up earlier than I needed to be for work, and so I spent the extra time on a hike up at Ball's Falls to catch the lilacs in bloom. I think it's one of my favorite times of the year to visit there.
